I’ve lived in Chino Hills for 14 years so I am familiar with many of you in this area. We run into each other at Albertson’s and Blockbuster or at one of my many trips to the Spectrum. I always know when my workouts are effective because you are quick to comment on how great I look or the flipside that you didn’t recognize me because I had put on so much weight. Well, you don’t actually say that part but I’m not in denial. I know that extra pounds make all of us look different.
The reason that I am looking much leaner these days is because of Fitness Concepts. I approached the owner Saman Bakhtiar in 2001 and hired my first trainer.
I reached my goal and started working out again on my own. Okay so fast-forward to 2006 where I found myself in the same position after I packed on 30 lbs. I started with Weight Watcher’s but due to all of the Aspartame that I was using because of my desire to keep my points low, I lost the sight in my right eye. I began a cleanse to get it out of my body and decided that I better do it the natural way. My eyesight returned so, I ran back to Fitness Concepts and I am happy to say that I have already lost 25 lbs and I’m still going.
My neighbors and close friends know that I am a registered nurse and that my graduate degree is in science, so I am constantly challenging theories. Fitness Concepts places emphasis on the “concepts.” The nurses at the hospital are coming to me for advice on weight training because they see my results. Every time I need to lose weight I am not going to waste anytime. I’m heading back to the people that I know will help me get to my goal. Don’t get me wrong, I still have issues with my eating habits, so I really appreciate being weighed every week and receiving great advice to get me back on track.
I am an advocate of hiring a personal trainer because the science behind getting the body that you desire is in working each of the muscles in three sets. Most of us going to the gym cheat ourselves by working out on only the mach8ines we find the easiest to operate and we work on the body parts that we prefer. A trainer is not going to allow you to cheat yourself.
And to my lady friends, weight training has so many benefits for your bones and for increasing your metabolism. Don’t worry that you will look to masculine. Weight training adds curves to our bodies instead of just being skinny flab.
I have to thank my wonderful trainer Aaron for pushing me beyond what I could imagine and for Armando for having patience with me during my agonizing nutrition counseling sessions.
